Stupid simple

Stupid simple

Stupid simple

It feels almost childish, but… a lot of tech problems really are fixed by some version of simply “turning it off and on” again. Closing the app, rebooting the computer, unplugging the device, or any number of other stupid-simple solutions actually work better than overthinking and troubleshooting the nuances of your use case.

Translation for humans: Maybe we need to consider the more childish, no-frills solutions as the go-to option instead of overcomplicating our problems. Instead of looking to technology or trendy habits to fix us, perhaps we should try and assess our challenges from the lens of a child: That is, without the cluttered context of our biased perspective, and with the courage to do hard things.

I’ve never liked the self-deprecation of the ol’ “keep it simple, stupid!” quote... so how about we make it, “keep it stupid-simple” — to remind you to try the dumb solution before spending your precious life being too smart for your own good.
