Personal handbook

Personal handbook

Personal handbook

I recently added a “Handbook” page to my website.

I first heard about the idea of a "personal user manual" from "The Shit You Don't Learn in School" podcast, where hosts Steph and Calvin explored the idea of giving clients and teammates an inside look at how you work. Everybody has their own way of working, and in this digital age of remote work, it can be tricky to pick up on those nuanced things that you'd normally get in the physical workplace.

Instead of waiting to experience frustration in a working relationship, this Handbook page lays bare the quirks and preferences that make me, me (and lets others see what I’m like without ever meeting). It’s a work in progress, and surely I’ll be adding more nuance to it after future work engagements that make me feel some type of way. I'm also not entirely sure what the real-world scenario is for sharing this kind of thing with someone would be — maybe it's just like a more detailed About page?

Anyway... this concept really intrigues me, and I thought I’d share it here in case you wanted to try something similar!
