Novel work

There’s a near-infinite number of ways to make money in this modern age… and yet, many creatives feel that the only two options are to get a full-time role at some big company or scramble to do freelance client work. Freelancing is always viewed as "risky", but given the sweeping layoffs we've seen this year in organizations that seemed cozy and protected... is full-time really safer?

However, what if instead of trying to be a “better” freelancer to get more work and feel more secure (ie. What basically every freelancer is doing, but pretending “there’s no competition, only community”), you figure out what kinds of unique talents, ideas, interests, or proficiencies you can combine to create your own new breed of “work”? What if you made your own third option?

Again, there’s a market for just about anything and everything! Those who have the humility to look for uncommon opportunities and the bravery to pursue a risky but possible future are often the ones who succeed. If you want a lifestyle that’s more about living and less about work, you owe it to yourself to carve out a new path for your creativity in the marketplace. You might fail, but... you also might succeed.
