Clear and compelling

Clear and compelling

Clear and compelling

What is a website for?

Ask a dozen people, you’ll get a dozen answers. Things like:

  • Marketing your services

  • Connecting with customers

  • Building brand equity

  • Establishing credibility

  • Looking cool online

  • Curating your portfolio

  • Making new connections

All of these are fair points. Websites can be for whatever you want, and the methods and practices to accomplish those desires will vary just as wildly.

For me, it all boils down to one core thing: Communication. Having a website is about making a clear and compelling statement to the world about what you’re up to (and why they should care). All the fancy design bells and whistles take second place to the importance of clearly communicating your message.

  1. Have an idea worth sharing

  2. Build the context needed to understand

  3. Reinforce clarity through visual experience.

Clear communication > everything else
