New year's now

Today's thought

Now is the time to start thinking about your “New Year’s resolutions” — not when sipping champagne at midnight on New Year’s Eve.

We’ve just entered November, which is (from my experience) when business tends to start winding down for the holidays, and everyone begins to loosen their grip on productive work. It’s one of my favorite times because it generally feels like people are a bit more introspective: Thinking about family and loved ones, what they’re thankful for, the spiritual side of what they do, and so on.

This is great — but it’s also prime time to get planning for the following year. While you still have the capacity (or maybe you don’t), find some time this month to lay the groundwork for what future you will want to act on, come January 1st. Even if you don’t make tangible plans with steps and actions, at the very least you’ll be in the mindset of positive change.
