More or less

Possibly the most important question to answer when it comes to your work, and how you make decisions for your business: “Are you trying to work more, or less?”

  1. Yes, it’s a choice. No, you can’t do both.

  2. There’s no right or wrong answer.

  3. Each has huge tradeoffs.

It seems silly at first… “Who would want to work more?” — plenty of people! Working more can be extremely lucrative in both status and finances, especially if you’re really good at your job. Many people love their work and want to do as much of it as possible. If your New Year’s resolutions include things like:

  • “Ramping up sales”

  • Hiring employees

  • Adding new services

  • Writing an eBook for your brand

  • Finally getting serious about LinkedIn…

You’re on the track to be working more.

But, if you value control over your time, and lifestyle freedom more than anything, working more is the wrong move. Pretending to enjoy it will drain the life from you over time. If that feels impossible, then maybe it’s time to shift your energy from tolerating work, to developing a business that can earn while you sleep — divorcing your time from money.

You're capable of more than you think. Don't allow structures and systems that others made, stop you from fully realizing the life you're capable of creating for yourself. Decide what you want, and act accordingly.
