Seemingly a short lifetime ago, I was a wedding videographer. Really it was only two years ago, but the pandemic makes it feel like a decade.
After many delays, the very last wedding I had been hired to shoot finally happened in the end of 2021, and I’m not editing that film.
Though I’m not particularly crazy about weddings (thus, why I no longer do it), the feeling of working through footage, picking out the beautiful moments, coloring the film, creating an experience… it all feels so natural, so enjoyable.
If it weren’t for the crushing weight of how challenging the video industry is (and the realities of making a living), in another life, I may have gone into video full-time and never looked back.
Perhaps, this love will be reignited when the time is right, one day.
