We moved today, and I felt like death.
Still not convinced it’s covid, just a nasty cold that had the absolute worst timing. DayQuil kept me going today — that, and the excitement to start a new chapter.
It was one of those multifaceted kinds of days: You’re doing something in one part of town, then you blink and you’re across town doing shopping for cat litter at Target. Then you blink again and you’re exhausted, and ready to collapse in a brand new place you’ve never been. What a time to be alive!
Moving is so inefficient.
We only moved like fifteen minutes away, and yet, it’s taken a gargantuan amount of effort, time, money, and sweat to make it happen. If it weren’t for my insanely gracious family helping us, who knows how much more it would’ve taken. I certainly don’t envy the people who move cross-country, having to hire proper movers and learn a truly foreign experience.
Beer in hand, pizza in belly, and boxes everywhere, I’m happy. Here’s to the next adventure of this new apartment — may it be inspiring, refreshing, and all around productive for our journey.
